You are so welcome here
✨ join me as I untangle Human Design, self-doubt and what it means to find yourself in midlife... if you're looking for wholehearted permission to be YOU, you're in the right place, come on in…
Hey, you’re here! 👋
Welcome to quietly courageous, home of human design geekery, gently-fierce self-belief nudges and whispers of tarot & magic.
This letter is for you if you’ve just arrived, wondering if you’ll stay…
…and it’s for you if you’ve already settled in and you can’t quite remember how you got here (plus, I tell you more about what Substack actually is: I’ve been asked a lot recently!)✨
Let’s dive in…
What is quietly courageous?
quietly courageous is my invitation to you to find your courage, to acknowledge the self-doubt and transform it into something brighter as I share with you my favourite tools and tips for doing just that. It’s the writing I can’t keep inside.
I talk about how our identity starts to shift and change in midlife, I untangle the weird complicated but powerful thing that is Human Design, and I share the ways in which your Human Design can help you find, love and trust yourself, and discover who you’re really here to be.
And I often turn my everyday experiences into weird and wonderful metaphors to get you thinking about your personal growth.
Apart from my garden it’s my favourite place to hang out, and when
invited me (in this post) to really describe this space, here’s what came to mind…quietly courageous is like easing into a chair at your best friend’s kitchen table. You feel welcome the moment you arrive, catching the scent of herbs, or spices, in the air; you can’t quite decide which but even so it feels like home and you breathe it in deeply. Generous garden views wrap around you, and you feel spacious and relaxed, knowing you are safe to speak your mind, and knowing you’ll be heard. There’s music playing somewhere in the background, something calm and uplifting all at once; your body responds with soft movements that settle you in like you belong here.
You reach for your favourite drink and cosy back into your seat, ready for whatever conversation flows today. You never quite know what to expect, but your host has a way with words that feels gentle but packs a surprising punch, and you know you’ll walk away with something to think about, perhaps the nudge you need to take the next brave step, or the inspiration to do something just for you… you always feel you know yourself better after a spell here, and you can’t put your finger on how this happens, it must simply be the magic in the air.

About me…
Hey, I’m Sarah, self-belief & human design coach, writer and cheerleader. I love helping folk to believe in themselves, overcome self-doubt and do amazing things, and I’m increasingly working with midlife women as they figure out their (beautifully) shifting identity and what they really want to do next.
My work blends human design (how we’re designed) and NLP (how we behave) for gentle and sustainable changes.
And if you’d like a different kind of intro to me, it’s here ⬆️
I’m a 4/6 Sacral Generator with the Right Angle Cross of Laws.
I’m on the planet to do the work I love, to tell stories, provide gentle & rebellious leadership and reimagine the rules we live by.
(In case you can’t tell, I LOVE my design and I just know you’ll love yours too.)
You’ll find me hosting retreats and group coaching, online workshops and (fingers crossed, soon) women’s circles, mostly in the northwest of England. Sometimes you’ll find me on a paddle board, but mostly I’m in the garden with a dog and four cats following my every move…
And how does Substack work?
Do you remember the good old days of blogging? Did you set up a blog reader and check out your favourites every week at the kitchen table with a cup of tea? I did, can you tell?
It’s like that, with a sprinkle of community on top. It’s not social media.
So, I send out weekly regular emails + weekly Seasonology emails
And you get to choose if it arrives in your inbox, and you can read it there, maybe reply to me by email, or just absorb it quietly….
or if you prefer, you can read it in the Substack app or on the website - this means you can like and comment on posts and interact with other readers (which is lovely for me, but may sound exactly the opposite of your perfect kind of day, so no pressure!)
And you get to enjoy long-form content, it feels indulgent after the staged snippets on Instagram. Readers leave thoughtful comments, so you can create real connection with other readers who enjoy the same things as you - once you’re here you might wander around and enjoy other blogs likeThe Moon Shed &
I know, I know! Not another app! Not another login!
I hear you. Honestly, it’s different, it’s gentle. And it might be just what you’re looking for as the antidote to all the noise on socials… if you’re not already there / here, give it a try and join me?
✨Your thinking nudge for today… taking inspiration from Kat’s post ☝️ if they were a real place, how would you describe your work, your friendships, your creations?
So, that’s quietly courageous, me, and Substack…. before I share a few of my favourite posts 👇 please do leave a comment and tell me how you found me, how long you’ve been here and whereabouts in the world you are… (or press reply in your emails 😘)
With love
