Hello you,
Here is a truth I remind myself of often. There is no behind. And yet… why does it feel like there is?
Of course, we’ve been conditioned to try and keep up, to be alert for falling behind, of course we have, we need to feel the safety of belonging, of being in the tribe. Don’t we?
I say ‘we’ but maybe it’s not all of us?
In the human design chart there individual, tribal and collective energies or themes running through the channels of the chart. You might have one or another of these themes dominant in your design.
So perhaps some of us are more focused on how the tribe functions, where we fit into that and is it all working as it should?
I have a strong tribal channel active in my chart; it’s an energy of nurturing and of upholding values, at it’s rawest, it’s the energy of raising children to continue the tribal lineage in a harmonious & values-led way… It’s a theme that’s run through my life strongly, one that’s shaped my path and no doubt accounts for why my 18 year old son shows no sign of fledging the nest; it’s obviously too harmonious in our little tribe!
So I feel it very deeply when there isn’t harmony in my tribe, whether that’s my family at home, my network or my friendship group. I feel it deeply if I make a promise and I can’t keep it; how will this impact the careful balance that I’ve nurtured.
I can see that this is where the hustle has come from, for me. You might feel it in a different way, the pressure coming from a whole other place. For me, it’s the feeling that I might fall behind. It lies in the need to keep my place in the tribe by keeping the peace, keeping my promises, even if I over-promised (never a good idea by the way) and maintaining the equlibrium.
But I feel that hustle a whole lot less since I settled into who I am. It’s no longer a pressure. Because I feel safe, in me. I can see clearly where pressure comes from, where my shadows are and what triggers me too.
I’m clearer on what I have the energy to do and I promise less, which means my self-trust is building every day. I’m less likely to fall into comparison because, well, I’m entirely unique, so my self-esteem is in pretty good shape. And I’m celebrating every little win (and the big ones of course too) so my self-belief is rock-solid.
I’ve spent years of training as a coach, being coached and doing ‘all the work’… but the way human design has fast-tracked these shifts for me personally* is incredible. Is that why I talk about it all the time? Oh yes! Is it easy to explain? Not in a generic way, no. So I’ll keep sharing stories to bring it to life!
If you have stories to share too, please do share in the comments or email me right back, I’d love to hear them.
"The human design system is not a belief system. It does not require that you believe in anything. It does not require that you believe in me. It is not stories. It is not philosophy. It is a concrete map to the nature of being. It is a logical way in which we can see ourselves.”
Ra Uru Hu, founder of human design
*and for clients too of course! I’d love you to know that although March is fully booked, I still have a few spaces available in April for Human Design Unpacks & Coaching if you’re ready to join me on this journey 💫
A big Seasonology catch up
It’s just too ironic that over winter I fell ‘behind’ on my self-imposed schedule of releasing one new card per week of my oracle deck. I talk through the winter cards about rest, and well, that was what I did. I gave myself a lot of permission to rest. Which means that as we arrive in the official week of Spring, I haven’t quite finished Winter.
So here is your catch up, including the seasonal card spread… enjoy!
Rest: an invitation to honour the winter in all your cycles
Quiet: listening for the unknown in the silence
Knowing: on remembering what we already know deep down
Nourish: on putting ourselves first
plus the Winter card spread!
Tell me what you think about Seasonology? Please do reply or leave me a message in the comments!
If you’d like some thinking or journaling today I might invite you to ponder… 💫 where are you ‘behind’? 💫 what’s really true? 💫
Sending love
Sarah xx
This is exciting! I hadn’t quite grasped what seasonology was but I LOVE this card deck idea 😀
As you know I love the seasonology cards. The wording is just lovely 😍
