“But I’m not creative!”
Right. Because (part 1) creativity is painting, making ceramics and crafting jewellery. And that’s it. Nothing else is creative.
And not only that, but (part 2) if you’re not actually good at the official Creative Activities, for goodness sake, don’t even try.
Where did you learn that?
Was it when your best efforts were met with blank stares, or overtly patronising enthusiasm? Was it when your mum introduced your sibling as ‘the creative one’? Was it all the times you reminded yourself ‘I’m not creative’?
After that it would have taken no effort at all to dismiss…
the party that people talked about for months afterwards
the people you connected because you just knew they fitted together
the intricate spreadsheet that makes your clients lives easier
… and every single other thing you created, despite *ahem* not being creative…
We are all creative. Own it, if you want to. Or don’t. But don’t let it limit you. Make creativity mean whatever the heck you want it to.
And go create.
You’ve got this.
From Seasonology:
What do you long to create?
We are all creators, even those who say ‘I’m not creative!’ - yes you are. Being creative does not simply mean drawing, carpentry or jewellery making… creativity is alive in us when we dream and when we play. We are creating all the time, plans, feelings, connections and more.
And we create through our focus, so become aware of where your focus lies just now.
Are you giving all your attention to what you don’t want, or what you do want?
By focusing your energy & thoughts on the things you wish to have more of in your life, whether that’s love, friendship, peace, freedom and so on, you will create that reality.
Affirmations for creating:
I am a creator
Energy flows where my focus goes
I focus on what I want to create

I find “I’m not creative” so hard to hear. Clients will often tell me this in the planning phases, but I believe we (humans) are inherently creative!
This is an important post. I used to think I wasn't creative which I now think is preposterous.
