on facing the shadows with trust and love in our hearts
Today’s card is an invitation, not to shine the light, but to wait patiently in the dark for the light to reveal itself.
Some days I think I’d like it all to be sunshine and rainbows. What a world that would be, right? Like some kind of fluffy Disney film. Except, even the Disney films have shadows, monsters, darkness… why? because we need both.
They belong together and yet, we so often want the light to win, but we simply can’t banish the shadows with light; they’ll return every single time we run out of torch batteries.
As I write I’m thinking about what gifts we might find in the darkness, if we go there with love and trust.
