I made myself a promise
how and why I’m keeping it this time plus a new thing I want to tell you about
I’ve got something new to share with you.

Hello you,
Here’s what I’ve been thinking about this week… are the promises we make to ourselves the hardest ones to keep?
I think they are.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve gotten very good at letting myself off the hook when it comes to the commitments I make to myself; alcohol, exercise and sneaky gluten treats all come to mind.
Sharing and selling are the others.
Perhaps you recognise these if you’re a small business owner too.
The desire and energy to Do The Work tempered by the necessity to share and sell what you do; the putting yourself out into the world hampered perhaps by self-doubt, by lack of skills, by sheer overwhelm.
I make myself promises that this time I’ll get on with it… it typically looks a bit like this:
have an idea for a workshop (in response to something external of course, like any good Generator should 😘)
feel excited, set a date, promise myself I’ll market it properly!
write some draft posts and emails
freeze up and hide…
wait until it’s nearly too late, then talk myself around
mention it a bit
berate myself for the low/no sign ups
feel drained about ever doing that again 🤦♀️
This is the exact opposite of anything I’d suggest to a client, and yet… I’ve done it so often to myself, failed to take action towards my dreams.
Only, this year, with a whole new kind of energy building around me (yes, I’m living my design, it’s magical you know) I’m making my promises with a whole other level of intention. And I’m keeping them.
And so when I felt a full-body YES to hosting a new human design exploration group, I knew I had to do things differently to the way I’ve done things before.
So here’s what I’m doing: I’ve got the right support around me (I’ll be sharing who’s helping me very soon…), I’m making a realistic amount of time and space to do the work, and I’m doubling down on the mindset work I do when I’m putting myself out into the world (because, yes, I still need to hold myself steady, self-belief isn’t a once-and-done-thing, it’s a muscle that needs to be kept trim!)
Here’s my first action step…
If you’re curious about human design, and how it can help you to find so much more ease and intention in your work, family and life, you’ll want to hear more about this upcoming group experience, starting in September… and numbers will be limited to keep it an intimate interactive space, so click on the button below to get yourself on the wait list ⬇️ you’ll be the first to hear all the details and get access to the early bird offer too!
To say I’m excited about this new adventure would be an understatement! I’m so looking forward to working with people who are open to growth, curious about themselves and the world, and ready to experiment, learn and take action.
I wonder if one of them is you? I hope so 💚
Sending love,
Sarah xx
PS. I’ll leave you for now with another Seasonology card. This one, you won’t be surprised to hear, is all about taking action!
From Seasonology:
There are times for rest and times for doing. This card might suggest an invitation that it’s time to take action.
Are you holding back from taking action right now? What’s in the way? What blocks do you see, or sense? What would it mean for you to take the next step? What might it bring you?
There will always be an element of uncertainty as you prepare to lift your foot and place it somewhere new on the path. Perhaps you feel a nervous energy? Could it be excitement?
Notice what you need to support you. Other people, new knowledge, the right space?
One thing is certain… you won’t progress along your path without this next move. Are you ready to commit and take action?
As always, if this email has got you thinking, or if you need some gentle accountability for your next steps, post in the chat, or press reply from your inbox to get directly into my inbox.
S xx
